The 4th Ring Road is 17 km long. The project aims to provide the following government buildings and facilities in the Cargo City: a customer service center on a total area of 24,600 sqm; a multi-floor car park to hold a minimum of 2000 cars on a total area of 86,400 sqm; the Government Inspectors Building on a total area of 3,480 sqm; the medical quarantine building, laboratories and testing, electricity workshops, offices, animals shelter, on a total area of 10,400 sqm; security in and out gates and buildings on a total area of 1,030 sqm; infrastructure services, roads, parking, lighting works, electricity, sewage systems for water, sewage, rain, a communication facility, etc.; water tanks and sewage treatment plants; truck weight area (optional). The project will also complete the aircrafts parking of the Cargo City (optional).

1. Kuwait’s Air Cargo System

The project aims to implement the recommendations of the 2005 Master Plan, the modernization of Kuwait International Airport 2012 that aimed at developing the infrastructure of Kuwait International Airport and upgrade its operating efficiency and increase air traffic, airfreight and the landing of all kinds, sizes of aircrafts including the new generation of giant aircraft 380 Airbus and Boeing 747-800 and that the initial designs and preparation of documents for proposing, supervision and implementation of designs to increase the capacity from 45,000 to 650000 takeoff vs. landing annually. The project aims also to build a park station for the Amiri fleet and the guests of the State of Kuwait, where the parking is located on the east side of Kuwait International Airport, opposite the Amiri building and includes up to 32 parking plots for all different types of small and large aircrafts. The project also aims to re-build the air control tower.

The South Abdullah al-Mubarak housing project has been allocated in May 2016. The project is directly linked to the Development Plan Index; i.e. average length of access to housing. The project is on an area of +430 hectares; i.e. 4.3 sq. km, and a total of more than 3,000 housing units. It is adjacent to the Abdullah al-Mubarak Project, and the west Abdullah al-Mubarak project, and is bordered to the north by the Shdadiya University campus project

1. Improve the living environment

The location of the city is strategical as it lies on the side of “kazema” that is historically renowned in Kuwait. Environmentally, it is well located where the fisheries are abound along a a water passage, Kuwait Bay, extending from the far north of the Kuwait Sea and intersecting with the “Khor-Abdallah” and the “Al-Sebiya Creek” passing by the land and the sea of Al-Khoissat; here lies the importance of Jaber City. As for its location to other residential areas, the city is expected to be the link between the new areas in the Al-Sabiya area and the Hareer City where it will be crossroads of the planned road networks and bridges. This is a strategic project that aims to provide additional docks for the handling of (salboukh) (building stones). The volumes of the (salboukh) that has been arriving at the Shuaiba Port has been in excess of its capacity, amounting currently to 16.5 tons per year due to the growing demand to meet the need of the country’s development projects. At present, the Al-Shuaiba Port is Kuwait’s only dock where cargo vessels carrying imported (salboukh) have to queue up to unload causing traffic congestion.

The South Sabah Al-Ahmad City housing project extends over an area of 60 sq.km. and is located south of Kuwait. The project is still in the planning and design stage in cooperation with a one of the best consultancy firms worldwide, and is expected to accommodate around 25,000 housing units for housing welfare beneficiaries. The project aims to establish a customs area at Shu’aiba Port to meet the needs of the increasing pressure on the Shuwaikh Port as a result of increasing volume of goods and containers and the lack of sufficient storage space which requires the transfer of some of these goods and containers to the Shu’aiba Port. In addition, the Shuaiba Port doesn’t have adequate storage areas for cargo containers and handling and customs inspection services, which requires the development of an area for customs inspection of goods and containers outside the Port’s zone so to resolve traffic congestion of trucks inside the Port being the result of rigorous security measures yet causing delay in the clearance of goods and containers that are docked at the Port. Further, the project aims to increase the capacity at both ports of Shuwaikh and Al-Shu’aiba for receiving containers so to reduces waiting time at the outside harbor which will help reduce demurrage charges imposed by shipping lines on the Port which negatively affects the customers

The tenders (RA/259-RA/260-RA/261) are part of consultancy agreement (RA/194) for the review, design and supervision for the implementation and maintenance of the north regional road (phase II), which includes the development of the Al-Salmi Road to provide smoother traffic flow and servicing the Al-Sheqaya, Ne’aymen and the Nawaf Al-Ahmed residential areas.
